Mobile apps to help you run your business

Technology

We’re thrilled to offer an app for Better Caring workers, designed to help unlock business opportunities faster than ever. Now, you can assess the features you use the most, straight from your smartphone. Features include: responding to prospective clients, sending agreements, and submitting timesheets. Most importantly, you’ll be able to see new jobs that have been posted in your area and our app allows you to reply on the spot.

While you’re downloading the Better Caring Mobile App for workers, take a look at some other helpful apps that can help you run your business (or have some fun).

Australian Taxation Office

With the Australian Taxation Office’s ATO App, you can keep copies of receipts and a record of tax deductions, and access a heap of calculators and tools. You can also set yourself reminders and alerts for super and tax obligations. You can even “enrol your voiceprint” with the ATO, meaning your voice will identify you next time you call or login to the app. Download in the App Store or on Android.

Airtax

And while we’re on the money, through Better Caring’s partnership with Airtax, you can apply for an ABN or register for GST free of charge. You can also lodge your tax return at a discounted rate. Download the Airtax app for IOS or Android and get your tax done in minutes while sitting through an ad break during My Kitchen Rules.

Facebook

Facebook hardly needs explaining, and people regularly delete the app because it can seem like a time-waster, but Facebook is one way to get to know other workers, through the Better Caring Community of Workers Facebook page. Workers regularly share their stories, ask each other for advice and even arrange face-to-face meet ups. While you’re there, make sure you like our Better Caring Facebook page to keep up to date on all of our latest news and information for workers.

Coursera

Thinking of further education? If there’s anything you’ve ever wanted to study, now you have thousands of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) to choose from. Whether it’s child nutrition, French or disability awareness, Coursera is a good place to start, with courses provided by some of the world’s most famous universities, free of charge. Download on App Store or Google Play.

Spotify

Spotify is a free service which gives you access to millions of songs. It’s also something fun you can discover with a client. You can set up playlists, listen to radio channels and enjoy features like Discover Weekly, which dishes up 30 new songs every week tailored to your tastes. It’s free but a small subscription fee enables you to skip the advertising and download any music you want to listen to offline. Download options here.

YouTube

Something else which is fun to do with a client is play YouTube videos, especially on a rainy day. It’s a great way to relive old memories, watch music videos, exchange your favourite stand-up comedians and share cat videos (it’s a thing!). You can also watch the Beginners Guide to Better Caring as well as other tutorial videos and interviews on the Better Caring channel. Install on App Store or Google Play.
